error msg. No Communication from display.
I use a serial cable, plunged into port 3 in my 141. I use default settings.
How would I know if the day settings took? for port 6.

Were you able to Power ON/OFF your 141 with the Buttons on the ControlCAL Profile?
If so, when you pressed the START CALIBRATION Button, you should see that it's in the ISF Interface on the Display's OSD.. did you see this?
What did you press before that Error Message was display?
If you couldn't Power ON/OFF the display with the Profile's Buttons, you probably don't have a Straight-Through Serial Cable.
If you are communicating properly with the Display, you will see this in ControlCAL's Terminal Window (each time a Button is pressed or slider is moved when Auto Send is enabled):
<--- SENT
---> RECEIVED
EDIT: Port 3, you mean COM Port 3 on your computer, correct?

I guess its my cable. I was using the f/f 6 point that I used to update my Lumagen. O well. I should have a new f/f 6 point cable by Friday.
Thanks.

:lesson:
It should be female 9-Pin (DB9) to female 9-Pin (DB9) straight-through Serial Cable.
What do you mean by 6 point? :confused:
EDIT: Some Serial Cables with have a few Pins missing as not all are used.

Yes, full 9-pin DB9 female to DB9 female, or RS232 as Radio Shack likes to term them, worked like a champ for me. Just don't like the results (good recomendation though!!!) of powered off Monitor when attaching ControlCal PC cables being met with the Monitor powering to full "On" when you plug in the Monitor power cable and hit the underside power button :eek: (not the actual remote's "On" button), not the default powering-up the Monitory should do in my book. Did not cause any actual problems but gave me a jerk when it did it :o. Other than that very smooth sailing from there on out! Found my (quoted to me by the salemen) hardly used/"Open-Box 151 had an actual use of 477 hours on it :mad: it was a demo and should have been said as such. They freaked when I used my super/premium version of ControlCAL and was able to printed out a pic of the hours displayed on the screen, sure made rectifying the problem a breeze, another great benifit of this ControlCAL program :thumbup:.
