I have posted two new settings for ISF night to be used with a pio 141.
Why I have two ISF night settings is because of the problems with the PIO BD05/51. And also with the PIO 51/05 settings you do not have to make any adjustments to the manual settings in the PIO 51/05.
The Panny BD55 settings should be more of a generic settings and there by work with other input devices. However I have not tested the Panny 55 settings with any other input device.
What are the problems with the Pioneer BD05/51?

Sorry for the delay.
There are many problems with the 05/51. The problem that is affecting your calibrations is the white crush. What most folk find exceptionable fix is lowering contrast by 1 click.
I have given up on waiting for Pioneer to fix the 51/05. It is said that the bata firmware 1.12 is a big help, however after following the AVS thread for the 05/51 for many months (may) nothing ever happens, only more hype and miss information form folks that say they know what they are talking about. Maybe Pioneer will come up with some very good firmware to get these players stable and achieve a very PQ and AQ.
So I have a new panny BD55 and what a nice BD player that is for about 40% less than my BD51. So far the BD55 is very stable and much faster. As far as PQ and AQ go the 51/05 are close. The difference with PQ and AQ are in the users eyes and ears.
Interesting. That's a shame Pioneer couldn't get it right with that player.
Maybe worth checking out the new OPPO BDP-83 when it is released.

Yes i think so too. I was going to wait for the Oppo, but I just got feed up with my pio BD51. However my panny BD55 is very good. So this time when the Oppo comes out I will not feel the need to be the first to get the Oppo.
