I have a PRO-110FD which has been professionally calibrated and looks quite fine. However I'd like to add another input (ISF DAY/Night) for use with another HDMI source (probably Blu-ray at some point). I know I can use my ControlCal to copy my HD HDMI settings (ISF Day/Night) to another input, but have a question in case I decide to tweak my existing calibration:

1. How do I get the necessary test patterns into my HDMI input? Must I purchase a signal generator, or can this be done with a laptop? I have serial and 2 USB 2.0 connections. I don't want to use my DVD player (Linn Unidisk SC) as the test pattern source, as it is a component only output and there is a notable difference between the component and HDMI calibration settings, so converting component to HDMI doesn't seem a good way to go. The serial port is needed for the ControlCal to 110FD link and one USB connection is needed for the I1 Pro. Can the laptop be used to generate the test patterns as well as link to the serial port on the display and the I1 Pro?

Thanks for any help,

Beowulf58

You could wait until you get your BR Player, then use that with AVS HD 709 (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=948496). Does your Laptop have HDMI? If not, I wouldn't use it for a pattern source.

Nope...no HDMI. Thanks for the link. As I'm not getting any response to my post on ISF Day/Night settings for the PRO-110FD, do you happen to know if any have been posted?

Okay, thanks...I've had those from my previous life as Beowulf57. Any idea if there is any need to adjust the gamma (without using instruments at this point) as D-Nice does in his ISF Day/Night settings for the 111 and 151?

The settings posted above your post are not ISF settings, So why would you want to make changes to the gamma? The settings are for Pure mode and uses gamma 2.

Yup, I know that. I'm still working on how to set up ISF modes for the 110FD without instrumentation (and D-Nice shows gamma settings of all zeroes or all -1's in his 111/151 settings)...perhaps it's not going to be possible?
