I was wondering what the max light output other Elite 60" owners were able to achieve before clipping or gamma drop-off. On my 141 I experienced the same gamma drop off discussed in another thread by Chad B, the original problem was found to be 1/4 size window patterns, however I experience this using the windows on AVSHD 709 disc. The highest I am able to set the contrast for ISF Day is 37 before I start experiencing the gamma drop, which gives me 39-40 ft/L output.

The way I found to test this easily is by performing a preliminary greyscale adjustment with the contrast set to 33 or 34. Next while showing a 100 IRE window, increase the contrast one step at a time until you see mass divergence of red and blue. Anyway my display only makes it 37 before blue starts peeling away aggressively. I did try calibrating at C=40, but it required heavy gamma offset which in-turn made things pretty screwy. Just wondering if anybody was actually able to achieve the elusive 50+ ft/L output.

^^^^

Whats the point? Why are you hung up on using a high contrast number.

The whole point of getting a 141 is because you want the best overall PQ available.

When you set up your HT you ideally want to control your rooms lighting.
and from there you move on to seating (6 to 9 feet away). After that is when you start to work on your calibration settings.

My display is utilitarian and gets used during the day/evening/night. I live at the beach so windows galore, around here black-out shades are unheard of since it's all about the view. It was more out of curiousity, just wondering since at that level of output it's barely surpassing the non-isf modes, if at all. I have ISF Night much lower at 28ft/L peak output.
