OK first off someone correct me if this is the wrons options for my setup - I am new at this display calibration thingie

so using a motorola DVR from comcast set to RGB not YCC via HDMI and the TV on Color-4 - get there by HM - Setup - Option - HDMI Input - Video - Color-4 -- for the RGB 0-255 option

I have to set the brightness to -15 for it to even reach the 0.002fl reading from my Minolta ML-100 - at 0 brightness it reads 0.040fl at 8 feet - I got this by waiting until there was a all black portion on a HDTV show like between commercials and paused it - I got uniform gray scale but it was bright, looked like a 10ire test pattern after it is calibrated so I had to turn down the brightness all the way to -15 before I was reading 0.002fl

so amI wrong at setting my motorola box to RGB not YCC and if not then am I wrong setting the display to RGB 0-255 because maybe the motorola box dont put out that or something

some help would be great

Try setting it to 16-235 or Color-3

yea I did - but that is not cool - why should I have to cut off the blacks and whites so 0-15 is black and 236-255 is all white

this is a great TV and it can display this 0-255 so is the motorola box just putting out 15-235 or is it 0-255 - I called Comcast and of corse they dont know anything at all

or does the motorola box only out put 15-235 - I dont know

OK so I have confirmed this by talking to Motorola - they called me back today and I talked to someone who had asked some engineers and they said it is 16-235 not 0-255
