Hello everyone.

I'm the owner of a european Pioneer PDP-LX6090 screen. I couldn't run a proper 150-hrs break-in due to the other people in the house not being willing to wait before they could watch the shiny BDs on the new screen  so I did what I could with the break-in DVD but lots of hours were spent watching movies with the factory settings that come with the "Standard" AV selection.

Ever since there's been something that bugged me, so I figured I'd ask over here. When displaying a completely black screen, there are two horizontal bars (like those showing up when you watch a movie in its original 2.40:1 aspect ratio) that seem to be somewhat brighter than the rest of the screen. I used to think it was due to image retention but the built-in retention washing feature doesn't seem to get rid of the thing entirely.

Is my screen's uniformity gone for good?

Try running the screen color test pattern in option a few times and see if that helps.
