2 files for your consideration:
1) BD30 - SS settings.pdf: Sillysally's ISF Night for Panny BD-55 settings; Note I am using a BD-30 directly connected via HDMI to the Pio 141FD
2) BD30 - My new settings.pdf: I tried to get grayscale closer, but it causes big dip in gamma between 40-90IRE :(
CalMAN Options:
white pt target: d65, hd rec709
gamma target: 2.2
gamma formula: power
deltaE foumula: 1976
deltaE correction: checked
digital level: video, 16-235
voltage level: 7.5ire, ntsc
Would appreciate advice on what to try next! :please:

Have you tried, with the settings you are now using to take a 100% IRE reading and then 0 thru 90%.?
Make sure you haven't changed your 9pt gamma. Also did you set your 100% white first, before you entered your settings.
Also do you have sharpness set to -15.
Did you set and save profile 2 of controcal first.
For my settings you can try and make these changes.
Blue H +12
Red H +2
Blue H -1
Red H -1

Two new reports produced this afternoon (after turning the living room into a dark cave).
The first - SS55 - is SillySally's BD-55 ISF Night settings verbatim. Note that yesterday's big hump in the luminance curve is mostly gone! :)
Why? Well, I changed two things today. One, I discovered that yesterday I had left the 141FD Energy Save setting on Save 2. Today, made sure it was on Standard (Off). The second thing I did was to make double sure I took a 100% white reading before each 0-90 grayscale. Cannot say I was consistant in doing that yesterday.
The second file -- ISF Night #2 -- has one change in the RGB Low settings (went from R&B Low at -1 to R&B Low at -2). Perhaps a slightly nicer grayscale, but made gamma and luminance worse.
Am hoping there is still plenty room for improvement. Can no longer ski down the gamma slope, but it is certainly not the flat line we are all shooting for. Looking forward additional advice on what to try next!
Thanks!!

Ok, you keep getting better. :)
Drop blue low by one click and red high by one click.
Also you may want to set your contrast to 24.
What is happening now is you are zeroing in on your sweet spot for High and Low RGB and contrast.

Have uploaded 4 new grayscale reports based on SillySally's suggestions from last week. Their naming convention indicates the settings used for the Pio 141FD's Contrast/RH/BH/RL/BL. All 4 look to me like big improvements over last week's attempts.
Which of these reports represents the best compromise between color balance and gamma?
Would welcome any further suggestions on other settings to try.
And as always, really appreciate the feedback and coaching!

I like the 1st pdf the best.
But that's not to say the other 3 reports will not work.
Pick the settings you like the best and go with it.
However if you are like me, I still like to tweak my settings until I can't do any better. :D
