My first plasma TV was a Pioneer PDP-424MV, I set it up myself and I was overall happy with it(but it lacks a lot of features from the new hdtvs). Now I am planning an upgrade and after researching online I realized that one of the top class HDTV's is the kuro. I stumbled across a deal from Best Buy (9 mo show room display item Pioneer elite PRO-151FD) for 3199(missing the remote-that I could get it online for around $50) or a new Pioneer elite PRO-151FD) $3999, from the same place. I was wondering if its a great deal the showroom item or I should definitely spend the extra for the new item. I am looking for a good deal, so price matters, but not sure if 9mo are worth 20% discount or not. I was wondering if i should buy a ps3 to play blue ray discs or buy a different blue ray player as well(based on my online research, ps3 is one of the best players for that price). I appreciate any good advice that will throw me in the right direction, ty. Is it a better buy to go for the krp-600m?- i already have a 5.1 sound system.

I know others are getting a demo/floor unit for $3000.

However, some (few) are having issues/problems with their floor/demo units.. you may want to consider the new one....

I finally got it....WOW, that's all i can say . I decided to play safe and after negotiating with the Best Buy manager i finally purchased a brand new pioneer elite pro 151fd for $3800 and they even topped it with a $120 hdmi high quality cable. Even before calibration, color aging and all the preps, everything looks amazing out of the box. I didn't get a chance to try the blue ray yet, but the upscaling 1080 from my dvd player its breath taking as it is. It makes me sad that pioneer stopped crafting these extraordinary masterpieces of high tech. This is the best Christmas present EVER!

What types of issues/problems have some people been having with their floor/demo units?
