Turbe,
Very much interested but I have a question. In your opinion[and I realize that you want to sell these], I have always placed my Chroma 5 ON the display & kept out ALL? ambient light witj blue painters tape...no outside light I hope!!! With the bar, do I place the Chroma 5 on the display "tight" to glass OR use painter's tape along with the bar????? Thanks for any help or ideas!! Bob Walters

:hiya: Bob,
With the bar (and Chroma 5 tripod adapter), I'd make direct contact with the display (tight). You could also cut a donut shape from felt to match the Chroma 5 (to go between the Display and meter). A similar custom felt can be used for the I1 Pro.
btw, do you have a pic of a setup when you are using the blue painters tape? Do you actually apply the painters tape to the screen surface?

Turbe,
I use the painter's tape @ 3,6 & 9 o'clock to hold Chroma 5 "tight" to the display...........peels right off & does NOT stick to the display!!!!

With the Chroma 5, use the felt head (with SpectraCal's Chroma5 Tripod Adapter) and there will be no need for painters tape or the hassle of hanging it... simply snug the meter up tight moving the tripod and/or making adjustments on the bar. For added "cushion" (for more pressure/snug fit), use an additional donut shaped ring (as posted above).

Hi Bob,
Don't know if you're still interested in an extension bar kit, but...
One of the great things I've found using these tripod extension bars is that meters (like the C5, i1 Pro, K-10) can be gently placed flush up against the display to block ambient light without the use of tape or anything else so there's no damage to the display and no change in the image, e.g., on an LCD. It's also totally adaptable for other meters and the bars are sturdy steel so they will support the heaviest of meters (provided your tripod is sturdy enough to handle a 14" bar with a meter on the end of it). The system really works great.
To paraphrase an old commercial for hair replacement: I'm not just the co-seller of these tripod extension bar kits, I'm also a client! :D
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me or Turbe and we'll be happy to help.
Best,
Greg

Greg or Turbe,
Will the meter profiling kit work with the i1Pro & the Chroma 5......I'm tired of the blue tape!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Greg had both the I1 Pro and Chroma 5 (he recently sold his Chroma 5 since he has a K-10 again)....
You use the Chroma 5 and I1 Pro tripod holders from SpectraCal as pictured in Post #1 (1 on each bar).

Hi Bob,
Yes, as Turbe said I've used the i1Pro to profile my C5 (when I had it). Since the C5 and its mounting bracket can be inline with one of the tripod extension bars (like the K-10 in the photo above), I set that one up first and then use the slot in other bar to correctly position the i1Pro on the display (at an angle as you can see in the photos above). Works great.
Let me know if you have other questions and I'll be happy to help!
Best,
Greg
