I had a wierd effect while using controlcal for the isf calibration which i'd like to share here.

The CMS and the RGB cuts and gains when never set to anything other then default would cause the isf mode to use the cms and rbg settings of av-mode standard.

To get around the problem i first set all cms and rgb values to -1, save the settings then set them back to 0 and work from there.

Do you mean that if you tried to change the RGB or CMS settings in the ISF mode that they would change to the values you have set in the standard AV picture preset? That is a bit odd. So if you had Red high set to -3 in standard mode for example, and you were making changes to red high in the ISF mode using Controlcal, that when you send the settings to the display, it would change the ISF red high setting to -3 (same as Standard preset) nomatter what value you sent in the ISf mode?

I understand your work around, do I understand the glitch?

I will try this with a 5090 this weekend and report back.

Also, what basic differences do you find between the Movie AV preset and the ISF day and night modes in terms of gamma and other Picture quality issues. Do you find any advantage with the ISf mode over movie, especially using the 9 point gamma controls? Thanks.:)

mlaun, have you been able to reproduce this again?

I've never seen anyone else Post this. Are you sure that the ISFccc Interface didn't timeout (8 minute timeout)? In my recent activation emails, I added the Important Warning about the timeout since some don't read all the documentation.

PioFreak, please do report your findings. :please:

Will do this Friday night when I use Controcal to "calibrate" the 5090 using just DVE BR and my eye with some actual content. I will be looking for any visual improvemenst that my eye can pick up over the Movie mode that I use now for Blu ray....most notably shadow details in a few scenes where Movie mode loses a few hairs of detail.
