Wanted to run something by you guys that I ran into using ControlCal last night. Great software by the away :)
Anyway is there a way ControlCal can scan the PC to see what serial ports are available. I noticed for serial port configuration the dropdown allowed for com port 1 thru 9. Anyway i've got a 4 port serial switch that was assigned ports 10 - 14 by the system. I was unable to get controlcal to recognize those ports since it only seems to support up to COM9. I finally had to use my usb - serial adapter that is normally assigned com6 on my PC then I connected my signal generator to the 4 port serial switch and all was fine. I can get around the issue, but would be a nice to have. Anyway, love the software. Had great results with it last night. I had a couple glitches at first whereby it didn't think the connected display was a 9G, but retried a couple times and it finally took. Now I can't wait to get my hands on another 9G Elite.

Yes, it's on my list to expand the Port range and/or add auto-scan.. it's just not on the priority list.. :(

Did you start with the Display in Standby and use the POWER ON Button in the Display Profile? If so, this could have been some communication glitch/error.. but unless communications is prep'ed without errors, the safety mechanisms kick in... :D
