Default Sharp 70C8470U ISFccc Calibration Report and ControlCAL Settings File

Here's my calibration using CalMan 4, a new D3 and ControlCAL Elite X5 Edition v2 to access the ISF day mode:

You can see that OOTB, it's pushing blue and the gamut is off. Note that the ISF modes activated by ControlCal in the set cannot be modified through the TV menu like the other viewing modes can be. But you select them just like Movie, game, user, standard, etc. You have to use ControlCAL Elite X5 Edition v2 to do it adjust them.

I'll front load my summary by saying it is worth it to use ControlCAL on the 70C8470U. This mode was far easier to calibrate than using the other TV preset viewing modes (I like movie, but ISF is better on gamut - see my other post with setting to compare) using the IP ControlCAL interface. It is way easier to navigate and make changes especially setting the CMS and the 10point white balance.

I've included screen shots at the end of the main controls and the settings I ended up with. Note that you can save these setting to your computer, share them with other users and reload should you have work done on your display that blows away the calibration. Also you don't need a cable but can use IP to access your display if it's on your LAN.

Finally, I've included my ControlCAL file if any other users are interested.

I'm a *very* happy customer with ControlCAL Elite X5 Edition v2 and I like the ISF calibrated mode on my display.

Best,
jeff

Do you have an updated settings file? It seems like you've done some tweaking and I'd love to check it out. The ISF day settings don't look as good as even the "auto" setting. The colors seem washed out. I'm new to calibration so I'm sure I'm just missing something pretty str8 forward.

Jay,

I've got the same TV and meter as you. Your cal results look very good. I loaded up your isf day and, thus far, this is the closest gamut (primaries) my set has seen. I may try tweaking this to get the gray scale to come it, but it at least shows hope that I may be able to dial mine in.

Thanks for posting up your results,
BT
