I just got my VT60, so I'm still breaking it in. Bit I'm curious what these settings focus on? I like my picture bright and with color. Right now I have my tv on the Vivid setting (is that ok to break the tv in with?) and I love it. Should I use these settings and change it from warm2 to cool2? Or do you think I'll be satisfied with your settings? After I'm done breaking it in of course.

Edit: First break it in for 150hrs then do the 100hrs of the images? Or just do the 100hr slides?

Default Nice PQ!

Just finished break in with D'Nice's slides and plugged in his settings and WOW what a beautiful difference in picture quality. I have the 50" st60 which happens to be my second 50" st60, I had to return the first set due to some issues, the reason I make mention of this is because there is so much discussion and debate as to whether slides should be used or not and IMO I must say YES, the difference has been night and day! With my first set I did not use slides, I simply used full screen content. The second set I used the slides, although I didn't reach 100 hrs. I plugged in the settings after 4 days of running the slides with minimal interruption so I got 96 hrs. of slides. I must say that the difference was noticeable to my naked eye, without any technical equipment.

Thank you D'Nice. I have one question at the moment pertaining to the overscan setting. My question is whether you suggest to leave it on or rather set it to its off setting?

I cant speak for D-NICE, but I've always set my contrast and brightness to 50 when running the break in period.

I probably wouldn't recommend running your break in under Vivid, based on all I've read one wants the break in process too be slow.

Of course you could always run it exactly as D-NICE recommends, which I would highly recommend.

This is in response too MAC007, as I too have the 65VT60.

Default Default Contrast

In the Custom picture setting, Contrast is 100 (55VT60). Is this the appropriate setting for running the slides?

Thanks

I did keep everything at the default settings including for contrast when I did the slides... remember this is for the slides, not for watching content where static logos and things will happen..

and keep an eye on the slides, making sure the slides are changing

I have the ST60 and currently running the slides with a usb drive. I have Transition Effect set to "Off". However, when the slides change I see a flicker.

Is this normal? Thanks

Hey D-Nice,

I just purchased a 60" VT60 from VE. I know in this thread it says to run the break in slides for 100 hours but I had read in another forum that you are now recommending 300 hours on the ST60. Does that also apply to the VT60 as well or is it only for the ST?

Also, for video gaming do I just need to apply these same settings under the "Game" mode as well? Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind! I see now that these setting only apply to the ST60 model. Are the VT60 settings going to be posted soon? Thanks!

Plugged these in at 40 hours just to see how it looks. Tired of watching at 40 contrast. I read somewhere that pumping the color helps with burn in a bit. I am watching at 60 Color.

Sometimes I switch over to the D-Nice settings just to see what I'm missing. Skin tones and lighting is amazing. Almost as if I am on set at a shoot, however I do notice a considerable drop in color pop. Strawberries, green beans, other foods look much blander. Green beans looked grayer which was odd because in real life they do have a pop to them.

Is this going to get better as I get closer to 100?

Are VT60 Settings going to be posted soon? D-Nice anything?

What's the difference between running the slides to evenly age the phosphors and breaking in the panel? I thought it was the same thing.
